"How Lidar is supporting Esri’s map of the future"

Saturday, July 18, 2015
9:05 - 9:25, Plenary Session Salon C

With the internet available anytime and anywhere, the map of the future is embracing the third dimension.
Creating 3D content for mapping, however, requires accurate spatial data. LiDAR - with its ability to collect dense, highly accurate spatial data -  has taken over as THE data source for 3D content.
Latest developments have transformed LiDAR sensors into smart data collection systems. These incorporate active 3D measurement, imagery and geolocation information on the fly, which enables rapid response times and speed up production cycles.
This talk shall provide an overview of performance leading LiDAR manufacturer, RIEGL, with a broad spectrum of advanced sensors for scanning from static, mobile and airborne, as well as UAV based platforms and how these are able to support the creation process of feature-rich, accurate maps for decision making processes.

"
Pointcloud technology – keys to the future"
Saturday, July 18, 2015
10:45 - 11:45, Salon E

RIEGL Laser scanner are built on waveform technology to deliver attribute rich pointclouds. This session provides an indepth view of laser scanner technology and the latest contribution to active UAV mapping. The data acquired with such LiDAR sensors provide point attributes, which are the key to smarter pointcloud processing in ESRI ArcGIS software.
